The inception of the internet brought the promise of a free and open exchange of ideas and information. Now, we find a landscape dominated by a few mega-companies built on the backs of our personal data; a murky definition of privacy that varies across global borders; and a design that is limited and limiting. In this series, we seek to answer the question: What would the internet look like if we knew then what we know now?
